Those look yummy and pretty. Hehe :) What's your favorite holiday desert recipe, Ang? I always make apple pie but want to make something different, too!! Any idea?
Well...I don't really like pie, so at Thanksgiving my Aunt Tracy (or my mom depending on if Aunt Tracy is at the Greek side, her in-laws, first that year) always makes my cousin Kayla and I a Chocolate Eclair Cake. It's super good! It's probably one of my favorite desserts. :-) Then at Christmas time, we all make cookies and goodies to share at our Kahl Family Christmas. my Aunt Tina makes oreo balls, which are yummy. My mom makes the hit though, peanut butter balls. I'm not a huge fan just because I don't like peanut butter, but if they're frozen, I always eat one or two. ;-) Grandma makes Christmas cut-out cookies which are pretty yummy. I can't even remember what I made last year for the goodies. Vance and I hosted Christmas last year, so we did the turkey in the oiless deep fryer of my dad's, I made homemade mac n cheese, the gravy, and two crock pots full of mashed potatoes! Everyone else brought the other aspects of the meal. :-) I'm truly glad it's Aunt Tracy's turn to host Christmas this year. We all rotate except for Grandma since she hosts Thanksgiving every year and we go to her house on Christmas and New Year's Day. (We never have our Kahl Family Christmas on Thanksgiving because every other year either my dad or Aunt Tina has to work.) I hosted last year, Aunt Tracy this year, my cousin Kayla next year, Aunt Tina the next year, Mom the next year, and then it will be back to me unless another cousin or my sister gets married. :-) Hopefully by the time I host again, we'll own our own home and have a kid or two! ;-)
Ha...you asked about food and you get my whole Christmas spelled out. :-D
OH and I saw this really cool recipe the other day for an orange cranberry cake. I thought it looked really festive for Thanksgiving. If I can find the recipe for it online, I'll let you know!
