Luster NOW! Instant Whitening Toothpaste Review

Source
From Luster Now Toothpaste's Website:

  • Instantly whitens teeth after just one brushing
  • Contains Bluverite, a propriety formula that creates the optical effect of whiter teeth
  • Removes surface stains with daily use
  • Gentle on teeth and safe for dental restorations
  • Perfect for when your smile needs an instant boost
My Opinion:
Influenster sent me a sample of this in the ‪#‎idovoxbox‬. At first, I was hesitant due to hearing that any whitening product can damage your teeth. After reading more about Luster, I decided to give it a go. Boy am I glad I did! I love this! I saw a big difference within a couple of days! I highly recommend this product to anyone! Easy to use and works wonderfully! ♥

Q-tips® Precision Tips™ Review

Source
From Q-Tips' Website:
With pointed tips specially designed for makeup touch-ups and cleaning tight spaces, new Q-tips® Precision Tips™ cotton swabs are must-have at home!

My Opinion:
Although Q-Tips does NOT condone nor endorse using Q-tips INside of your ears, I do use them from time to time to dry the crevices on the OUTside of my ears. These are especially good at fulfilling this purpose due to the blunt-pointed tip. These are also good for creating nail art (polka dots are my fav!), smudging make-up along the brow/lash line, and Max, the little boy I nanny for enjoys using them with paint to create works of art! Q-Tips are definitely the softest cotton swabs out there! I've tried other brands and while they work sufficiently enough, they do not even compare to the softness that the Q-Tip brand brings to the table! I highly recommend these Q-Tip Precision Tip cotton swabs to anyone!

Dr. Scholl's® For Her Ball of Foot Insert Review

Source
From the Dr. Scholl's website:

  • Helps prevent ball of foot pain
  • Immediate Massaging Gel comfort for the ball of your foot
  • Only ball of foot product made with unique FabuSTEP®gel
  • Prevents toe scrunch
  • Stays firmly in place
  • Removable without damage to your shoes
  • Discreetly fits all women's shoes
  • Made with FabuSTEP® gel to prevent feet from sliding forward
  • Gel waves cushion the sensitive ball-of-foot area
  • Massages your foot with every step
  • Small design prevents toe scrunch
My Opinion:
I have flat feet and am known to have issues with my arches because of them. These inserts make wearing heels (even kitten heels, though they are designed specifically for 2" or higher heels) much more comfortable! I am so impressed with the cushioned-feel and support these little inserts provide. I am blown away at the ingenuity behind these tiny inserts! Never in a million years did I believe they'd make as much of a difference as they do, yet stay out of sight in even my slimmest silhouetted shoes. Two thumbs way up!

Tips, Tricks, and Recommendations:
Those with wider feet may have issues getting the overall feel of support that medium width shoe-wearers get. (I wear a size ten medium width and it is perfect for me.)

Review:
I TRIED to do a video review, but the sound and the video weren't matching up well, and quite frankly, I didn't have the time to go back and do it again, SO you get a typed up review, which I hope is equally as stellar! (I will try my darnedest to do a video review next time, though!!)

Sizing/Rise:
OH MY GOODNESS!!! What a wonderful diaper! It has 4, not 3, FOUR different sizes, making it truly a OS diaper. I can totally see this fitting a newborn (Rump Arounds' website even claims a preemie can wear it!) all the way up to a 3 year old who is still in diapers! The weight range Rump Arounds says it will fit is 5-35 lbs (depending on the height/width of your child.) I can TOTALLY believe this to be true. Max is 21 months and a semi-lanky fellow. He has a littly belly, but not much. He wore he diaper on the "medium" setting (one snap from the top) and about halfway in on the snaps for the waist. it fit him snuggly, but he was not uncomfortable.

Close-up shot on Max (the coloring is truer in the slideshow)

Fit/Trimness/Look:
I LOVE the fit of Rump Arounds diapers. So far, I've tried the 2 Snap Pocket Diaper and the C.D.L.C. They both fit about the same, which is absolutely amazingly! They are snug, without cutting into baby's back or legs. They do not leave red marks on baby's belly. With one insert in, the bulk between the legs is minimal and has never bothered Max in the slightest. He is super active, rough and  (like most boys that are almost two) and has never behaved differently in a Rump Arounds cloth diaper compared to when he wears 'sposies. He actually seems to prefer the cloth diapers. (See the image in the slideshow below where he's examining the diaper? After he looked at it he said, "Good!" Ha!) Adding inserts in for nap/nighttime will make the diaper bulkier, but that is the case with all cloth diapers. There's no getting around it! Even with doubling the insert, though, the diaper doesn't gap from the waist and/or leg holes! (Using two microfiber inserts.)

Absorbency/Length of Wear:
Using the microfiber insert that was provided with this diaper, Max made it for 7 hours (I highly recommend changing your child more often than that!) with this diaper on, which included his nap (3 hours or so.) Max, as he's gotten older, has turned into a heavy wetter. In 'sposies, if I don't change him right before he goes down for nap, he wakes up soaked and often times soaks his sheets. If he goes to bed in anything but a night time 'sposie, he and his sheets are soaked. (Not trying to be gross, just making sure everyone understands how much of a heavy wetter he is!) In this diaper, he could have gone another couple of hours and still have been fine. The insert was only 3/4 "full" and the lining of diaper was dry! I would very easily put this diaper with two inserts on Max overnight and have all of the confidence that he and his sheets would be dry in the morning! Plus, with the double gussets, poop is MUCH better contained and HIGHLY unlikely to leak. (Max never pooped in this diaper during our trial period, but I have no doubt in my mind that the inner double gussets would have contained the poop no questions asked!

Recommendation:
I whole-heartedly give my 100% approval and recommendation for this product! 2 thumbs up! 5/5 stars! Gold medal. Stamp of approval! If you're looking for a premium cloth diaper that is cute, (c'mon! it says Rump on the butt!) high quality, fits well, budget-friendly, and kid-tested, mother-approved, I highly recommend the Rump-Arounds C.D.L.C. OS Pocket cloth diaper!

Review
Sizing/Rise: When I first opened the package of this diaper, one of the first things I noticed is that not only is it a one size diaper, BUT it has 4 sizes! That means it will fit baby longer! Yay! The two rows of waist snaps along with the 4 different size options makes this a very versatile diaper! I first tried the "small" size (second snap from the bottom) but the rise wasn't quite long enough for Max's long self combined with the folding over of the trifold insert and doubler in there. On the "medium" setting (third snap from the bottom) it's a little too long, so the front of the diaper folds over just a bit where his belly protrudes. I honestly don't feel like this is a problem. I love that, at 17 months, he still fits into a size of OS diaper that isn't the last setting!

Fit/Trimness/Look: I truly love how this diaper looks! Not only is it a gorgeous outer cotton print (with hidden layer of PUL), but it is lined with a dark brown minky!! Who doesn't LOVE the thought of a super soft minky lining their baby's diapers?? The contrasting snaps don't scream, "AH!! I'M SNAPS!!!" but also don't blend in so much that it's difficult to see them. :-) (What? You didn't know snaps can talk? Psch. Where have you been?) As far as trimness goes...it's not too bad. Max didn't have a huge wad of material between his legs, but it definitely isn't the trimmest diaper he's ever worn. This is mostly due to the fact that as an AI2 diaper, most of the bulk comes from the soaker you choose to use. I would also like to note that the trifold insert was folded over in the front (since he's a boy and the absorbency is needed more there) and I also used the doubler at the same time to measure how long her could wear the diaper before it 1. leaked or 2. was saturated. To have basically a quadruple-stuffed diaper, it kept a pretty low profile! The diaper fit him like a glove, too! As I stated above, I put it on Max on the "medium" setting. The waist snaps were fastened on the 4th snaps from the outside. Max is getting more and more active everyday! He jammed out to some Christmas music with his wiggly dancing, did several toe touches, rolled around on the floor, and sat and read books. The diaper didn't once sag, pull away from his body, or shift in anyway! :-)

Absorbency/Length of Wear: Max gave this diaper a run for it's money! The longest period of time he wore it was from 9am until 3pm. That's 6 hours! He wore it all morning during play time and all during his nap. I could have easily left it on longer, but I felt it was probably a good idea to change him! ;-) The insert was only about 1/3 wet and the doubler was barely wet at all. Max is by no means a heavy wetter, but I was amazed at how dry everything was, still! This is definitely a diaper you could take out for errands. Oh and best of all...no leaks. Not a one! Max is a stomach sleeper. No liquid leaked out of the back, the front, or the legs of the diaper. :-)

Recommendation:
I would definitely recommend this diaper! At first, I was a little nervous because I only have experience with pocket diapers, but an AI2 diaper is very easy! Not only can you use it the same way I used it (laid in soaker) but you can also use it as a diaper cover when you snappi/pin on a prefold/flat. Katina has taken the time to put a ton of love and time into developing a wonderful product! To all of you pocket/AIO users, don't be frightened to give AI2, specifically Two of a Kind Creations' AI2 diaper a go!

Bonuses: In addition to trying out one of her wonderful diapers, Katina also shared one of her regular sized bamboo/fleece wipes and two travel sized bamboo/fleece wipes! Oh my goodness! I seriously rubbed them against my face. They are SOOOO soft! Not only are they super soft, but the prints (especially the Ooga Booga!!) are adorable! I feel like I can really jump on board the whole cloth wipe movement! It made me super happy knowing that even if it's just one or two changes, these wipes are cleaning Max, with the wipe solution that Katina created, instead of the harsh chemicals in disposable wipes.

Snugs Boutique Review/Giveaway

I am pleased to announce Angela's Favorite Things next review/giveaway! Snugs Boutique is an Etsy shop that I came across while I was looking for WAHM/handmade businesses to do reviews/giveaways with. Andrea is a wonderful lady, who I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know and working with!

Basic Info.
Business Name: Snugs Boutique
Owners' Name(s): Andrea Stanley
Business Bio:
My name is Andrea Stanley and I am the owner/operator of Snugs Boutique. I am married and am the mama of a very spirited (but good!) three year old boy. I have always had a passion for sewing and design. This passion transferred over to baby products when my son was 5 months old. I had been contemplating the idea of using cloth for him but had no idea where to start. I began researching and realized that the best thing to do was to try to make my own. This eventually developed into the wide range of designs and options I make and sell today. Now that my son is potty trained it gave me an opportunity to develop a potty trainer, unfortunately now I have no idea who I’m going to get to test all of my new products now! (Written from Andrea's pov.)
Opening Date: August of 2008
Reason for Opening: I was making cloth diapers for my son and decided to try to sell them. It’s been a lot of fun developing it into what it is today.
Types of Products Sold: Cloth diapers, mama pads, cloth breast pads, hand dyed wool yarn and diaper covers

Review
Sizing/Rise: When I first received this diaper, I played around with it. I admired the colors. I played with the snaps. I looked at the largest it could go. I looked at how small it could go. I sat it next to other cloth diapers I own and noticed something significantly different about this diaper compared to the other diapers I have. It can get MUCH smaller. According to Snugs Boutique's website, these diapers can fit a child 10-38 lbs. I have no doubt that this diaper will fit a 10 lb baby well. I would even venture to say that it would probably fit an 8 lb baby. I do not have proof of this as Max is 16.5 months old, but it is one of the few one-size cloth diapers that I feel can truly fit the lower end of the weight range without consuming the baby. On the other hand, depending on how long your baby is, the largest size might not have a long enough rise. Like I said, Max is 16.5 months old. He wore this diaper on the medium rise setting and on the 3rd and 4th snaps on the waist. If you have a 3 year old who is on the tall side, this MIGHT not be long enough in the rise for him/her as it is slightly shorter than other OS diapers on the market. I feel like this is one a good representative of a one-size diaper, though. It can actually get small enough to fit a newborn and can get large enough to fit most toddlers.

Size Difference
Label/Crotch Width
Insert Length/Width
Fit/Trimness/Look: I absolutely LOVE the way this diaper fits Max! He is a very active little guy and this diaper has not ONCE stood in his way! No matter how he runs, rolls, bends, lays, etc. the diaper moves with him without any gapping around the waist or the legs. It also didn't sag once while he wore it. Even with clothes on, the diaper looked pretty trim. The only thing I didn't care for is the way the crotch of the diaper fit Max. Due to the width of the crotch being at least an inch smaller than most one size diapers I've come across and the insert being the same width as most one-size pocket diapers I've seen/used, the insert bunched up a bit more than other diapers I have seen/used. It was also more difficult to stuff and smooth the insert through the crotch region because of this. My hubs could not stuff the diaper successfully due to his hands being wider than mine. I have relatively small hands, so if you have larger hands, this could be a bit of an issue. However, if you fold the insert taco style and slide it in, it is easier to get in for those with wider hands. :-) As far as the look goes, this is SUCH a cute diaper! I love the blue PUL with the fun wavy stripe cotton fabric over the back of the diaper and on the tabs! The snaps are coordinating and fun! Plus, how cute is that label? I love elephants and giraffes, so I think that label is precious! Max liked it, too! The third picture in the first collage is of him examining the diaper. After staring at it for a bit and patting it, he looked at me, grinned, and went on his way to play. I think that means he gives the look of this dipe two thumbs up!

Absorbency/Length of Wear: Max put this diaper to the test! After wearing it for several hours, the insert was nowhere near soaked. He had definitely peed a couple of times, but still, it did not leak and the insert was only about half full. He also had a major poop explosion in this diaper. I was actually pretty impressed with just how much poop this kid produced. It's almost like he just KNEW we were testing it for my blog! ;-) Well, I am extremely pleased to let you know that this diaper stood up to Max's rigorous testing! The diaper was pretty full of squishy poop, but not one tiny spec left the constraints of the diaper! None went up his back. None came out the front. None came out of the leg holes. The diaper contained the mess proficiently! The only thing I'm not completely sold on is the fleece lining. Being that it is super soft comfort fleece (per the website), it doesn't wick away the moisture quite as well as if it were micro-fleece. I found that pee DID pass through the fleece into the insert, but that some of it actually was absorbed by the comfort fleece as well. Although that may not bother some people, I wanted to mention it in case that would bother you. (I'm still not sure how I feel about it. I think I need to use it even more to see! I will say it wasn't wet to the touch, but it wasn't 100% dry either.)

Recommendation:
I would most certainly recommend this diaper to a friend! Not only is it well made, adorable, and effective, it also can hold a ton of liquid and waste! I love that it can get so small that it can fit a newborn without completely devouring him/her. I love that it fits under clothes easily without stretching them out too much. I also love that this diaper is made by a WAHM! Not only is it made for quality, but it's also made with love! If you enjoy purchasing handmade/WAHM products and are a CDing mommy/daddy/caregiver, I strongly urge you to give Snugs Boutique a try! If you do make a purchase, please be sure to let Andrea know that you heard about Snugs Boutique from Angela's Favorite Things! (It will earn you 10 more entries in the giveaway, too!)

Rump Arounds Cloth Diaper Review

I am super excited about presenting Angela's Favorite Things first ever cloth diaper review!! Before even receiving a product to review, I email a document to the business owner to get some info from their point of view. I also visit their website(s) and read any info they share there. I feel like a review should be done fairly, honestly, and thoroughly, which includes knowing as much about a product/company as possible.

Review
Sizing/Rise: I feel like this is truly a one-size diaper, with the exception of if you have a TINY newborn. Since my "test subject," Max, is 16 months old, I cannot speak of the size of the diaper on a baby smaller than he, but I can truly see this diaper fitting babies from 8 lbs to at least 35 lbs as stated by the Rump Arounds' website. Max fit into the diaper on the smallest setting with the waist snaps meeting in the middle, but just barely. It fit him better on the medium rise setting with the waist snaps overlapping one snap. Max has a bit of a belly, but he is not rolling with the chubbiness. :-)

Fit/Trimness/Look: The fit of the diaper is superb! One of the complaints I hear/read about most often is that snap waist diapers don't get tight enough on their kiddos. What I love most about this dipe is that the waist snaps can be overlapped for an even tighter fit than those diapers without overlapping waist snaps. I only put 1 insert (the one that came with the diaper) in the diaper when testing it. Max is a VERY active toddler! He loves dancing, walking, running, etc. He had no difficulties whatsoever doing ANY of those activities. It also didn't LOOK bulky between his little legs. He didn't seem to notice the diaper (after his initial curiosity with the feel of the minkiness...which he loved) was even there while he played/danced, ran circles around the living room, etc. If you have a heavy wetter or for overnight wear, doubling the inserts WILL make it bulkier, however, I don't think it will impede the life of a busy toddler! :-)
Max sitting/standing with/without clothes
Max examining the diaper, playing, and reading
Absorbency/Length of Wear: I tried pushing this diaper to it's max! (No pun intended!) During one of the test sessions, I put the diaper on Max at 8:30am. At 11am, I checked it before I laid him down for his nap. He had definitely peed at least once in the diaper, but it was nowhere near soaked. I even (hesitantly) touched the liner of the diaper with my bare hand to see if it was wet. It wasn't. The liner wicked the moisture away from Max's nether-regions very well. I then laid him down for a nap without changing him. When he woke up at 3:00pm, the diaper was wet, but not soaked. His clothes, blanket, and sheet were 100% dry. He wore the diaper from 8:30am until 3:00pm...aka 7.5 hours...and did not have one leak. It actually could have been worn even longer, if need be. The insert was only about 2/3 wet. In comparison, Max usually goes through 3 disposable diapers by this point in the day, not counting the night time diaper he wakes up in.

Recommendation: I would easily (and already have before this review even posted) recommend these diapers to other people. Not only are they affordable, adorable, soft, and well-made, they also hold a ton of liquid, all while keeping baby's bum dry! If you heard about Rump Arounds prior to reading this review and were on the fence about buying, please do not hesitate to purchase! Newbies, that goes for you, too! :-) OH! And before I forget, if you DO purchase a diaper from them, please mention my name! They reward loyalty/referrals with kickbacks! I can earn money towards a future purchase by you mentioning my name when purchasing. If you "like" them on FB, please leave them a comment saying Angela's Favorite Things sent you!

Recipe Reviews

Side note before we get started!
I started my period today. (HAPPY MONDAY!) If you haven't been reading my blog for very long, you might be wondering why I'm posting such a personal, yet natural, moment in my life. Well...it's because my hubs and I are TTC. We've not succeeded yet, and this basically proves it. Yesterday was day 70 of my cycle. 70 days. 70 FREAKING DAYS! That's the longest cycle I've ever had. What is UP? I have no idea. November 1st can't come soon enough. (See this post and this for more info.) Bright side of seeing Aunt Flo? It's a new month, with a new opportunity to TTC. I have faith. Romans 8:28.

I am such a slacker about planning our meals right now...and sharing them with you. I'm not sure if I'm honestly going to be able to keep up with the full on spreadsheet, but I'm going to try to plan out our meals and link recipes, as well as give my reviews of the new recipes we try. That spreadsheet is TIME CONSUMING. I might do it again if I hear that people are actually using it, but if I'm only making it for me, I can make it in a list form.

From the last meal plan I posted, I made 2 out of the 3 new recipes I hadn't made before. The potato soup is on my list for this week...as well as my stuffed shells!

My Rating
Hubs' Rating

Review: This picture looks really gross. I know. Ha. HOWEVER, this was taken in terrible lighting...in a tupperware sandwich container...the next day. I forgot to take a pic when it was fresh because it was SO YUMMY! The hubs and I don't rate things 5 stars unless we mean it. We loved the chewiness, the smoothness, and the crunchiness. It took me about an hour to make this, which might seem daunting to some busy ladies and gents, but unless a soup is slow cooked in a crockpot, it's going to take more than 10-15 minutes to make a yummy, homemade soup. I highly recommend this to anyone!

Review: This recipe was a bit of a let down to me. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great, thus the 3 star ratings from the hubs and I. We ate ours over whole wheat pasta, which was pretty good, but it might be better over egg noodles, as someone told me on Pinterest, that they did. I didn't really like the texture, too much, but to be fair, I didn't defrost the chicken before putting it into the crockpot. Maybe it would have turned out a little smoother if I had? Maybe not? Regardless, I feel like it was just lacking overall. I suggest you give it a try if it sounds like something you and your family might enjoy, though!

Did you try either of these recipes over the last couple of weeks? What did you think? Do you agree with my ratings? Have you tried any other recipes lately that you think I should try? Leave the link and/or recipe in the comments below, please!

If you could take 2 seconds and give this a click, it would mean so much to me! Thank you!!

Any Cloth Diaper Users Out There?

I was recently approached by a cloth diaper company to do a review and a possible giveaway of one of their diapers. This THRILLED me, because the hubs and I want to cloth diaper our children when we have them. This means that not only do I get to try out a brand of diaper I might not have thought about buying before, I also get to KEEP the diaper. :-) When I review the diaper, I will be writing a review and posting it on this blog, my FB business page, their FB business page, etc. Pictures, details, etc. Will be included, too!

So it got me thinking...do people who read my blog use cloth diapers? How many of you have considered cloth diapers? Do you know anyone who uses them? If we did a giveaway, would any of my current readers actually enter? I know if I posted about my giveaway on cloth diaper blogs and such, I'd have a great turn out, but would it bore my current followers if I got all review heavy and such? (So far, I have two cloth diaper companies wanting me to do reviews!) I will still be doing my regular posts and such, but the reviews will be in there, too. Anyone have any thoughts they'd like to share on the subject? Pretty, please? :-D
