This was SUPPOSED to post yesterday! I scheduled it and everything. What I DIDN'T do was take it out of drafts and publish it. OOPS. So anyway...it's going to be a double post sort of day! :-D
Christmas is my FAVORITE time of year. It's never been about the presents, though. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy(ed) the presents, but they aren't the end-all, be-all, for me. I enjoy the togetherness, the family time, the songs we sing, church on Christmas Eve, the beautiful lights and decorations, (I have a love affair with my Christmas tree) baking cookies, Christmas movies, (I'm a SUCKER for Christmas...or any holiday movies) etc. etc. etc.
Last year, after being married for only about 6 months, the hubs and I hosted Kahl Family Christmas. (That's my side of the family.) We cannot do ANYTHING small, because there are SO many of us! We draw names each year prior, so it helps keep the cost down, but we have our big Christmas meal, tons of cookies and desserts, and we all cram into the room where the tree and presents are and open presents in two rounds. The kids go first, youngest to oldest one year and oldest to youngest the next, one present at a time, and then reverse the order and go back until all the presents are opened. Then the adults go. The youngest adult opens ALL of his/her presents, then we move onto the next adult until it ends at Grandpa. :-) Now, bear in mind that Vance and I are currently residing in a 100+ year old home. They did NOT believe in open floor plans. Our living room is not TINY, but it isn't large either. It has a doorway that connects to the office and a door that connects to our bedroom. We all managed to fit in there AND Skyped my cousin Megan in from Colorado. Super fun!
Now onto the reason behind this post! I'd like to share with all my readers, my Christmas decorations! (Please bear in mind that they were taken with my cell phone because my digital camera disappeared a while back, never to be seen again!)

If you could take 2 seconds and give this a click, it would mean so much to me! Thank you!!
I love the tree on your dining room table!
ReplyDeleteAnd I also love that we both have Dollar Tree doorknob hangers! :)
