I decided to divide these posts up into two postings because of the sheer length that the post would have been had they been combined. Plus, it makes it easier to find later if they're named according to which recipe is in the post!
This recipe is a pretty easy, straight forward, recipe and is very summery and light. Oh yeah, and it's YUMMY!!
Without further ado...

- Open package and put meat into a medium mixing bowl.
- Add paprika.
- Add salt and pepper.
- Mix thoroughly with hands.
- Form 4 medium sized burgers with hands.
- In a frying pan, lightly cover the face of the pan with oil. (Using medium heat, allow oil to heat thoroughly before adding meat, to prevent sticking.)
- Add burgers to oil, browning both sides.
- After cooking, place burgers on a plate covered with 2-3 paper towels or napkins to absorb the grease.
- Lightly sprinkle cayenne pepper on top of the burgers.
- Lay sliced cheese on top of the cayenne.
- On a greased cookie sheet, place all of the burgers and heat in the oven at 300 degrees F for 10 minutes or until cheese is fully melted.
- Serve burgers on toast or on buns with a generous serving of black bean-corn salsa on top.
- Enjoy!

The hubs and I thoroughly enjoyed this meal! It was quick, easy, and pretty darn healthy! We ate a side of mac and cheese, but had we planned ahead a little better, we would have served it with peas, homemade chips, and/or a salad. The strawberry lemonade from the post previous to this one, went VERY well with it! We will certainly have this one again soon!
Happy cooking!

Thanks for following the blog Angela! I have one whole follower now, so incentive to do another post soon!
ReplyDeleteI eat gluten free and have to modify a lot of recipes that don't end up working out... but this one looks like it'll be great! My husband is a chicken fiend so on his behalf, I say thanks =]
That is spectacular! Let me know if you try them!
ReplyDeleteI started following you when I saw your link on Patrices blog's comment! :-) They attend my church here in good ole Winston-Salem, NC. It makes me happy that people that don't even know them are willing to do what they can to raise awareness of EB and to help fund research in their own way! So basically...you ROCK! :-)

Thanks, I appreciate hearing that! I can only hope it'll be contagious!
ReplyDeleteAng, I AM TOTALLY GOING TO MAKE THIS!!! I have some ground chicken in the freezer. I've been making my delicious chicken chili - but it's getting warm here so can't really make it anymore. Well, I could. But I don't want to. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love this recipe...and cannot wait to make them!! YUM!!! This would probably be delicious without bread, too.
Thanks for linking up - I Love you!
